Homes for Sale in Northeast Minneapolis

Comprised of 13 smaller neighborhoods and bordered by the Mississippi River, homes for sale in Northeast MPLS offer home buyers an urban setting near the River to a small town feel further north.  Home buyers in the Northeast community will have easy and close access to a wide array of culture from the Minneapolis Art District to the reviewed Gasthof Zur Gemutlichkeit Restaurant where you can enjoy some of the best German food in Minneapolis and wash it down with a beer in a glass boot.  Homes in Northeast range in style from old world charm and Minneapolis Lofts to new residential high-rises and single family homes.  Northeast is also home to the popular Madison Lofts that feature 11 to 18 foot ceilings in a classic 1920’s brick warehouse setting.  Chances are, if you want it, Northeast has it.

About the Northeast Community

It has been said that the residents of Northeast Minneapolis “marinate” in art. Countless artists ready to show their masterpieces call Northeast MPLS home. With traditions like the “Spiritual Art Show” and the “Art-A-Whirl” Northeast is one community with its finger on the pulse of the art world. Once a working-class neighborhood Northeast has revitalized itself with neighborhood and community efforts to emerge with a thriving community offering an artistic community, bars and eating establishments and is becoming quite the nightlife hot spot. One of our neighborhood hotspot is Nye’s, which was recently named best bar in the United States by Esquire magazine.

Neighborhoods in Northeast

Northeast Park

Northeast Park is roughly divided into three sections, and the western section is mainly residential. The Quarry, a large regional shopping center, is a buffer between the small residential portion of the neighborhood and the eastern section. The eastern section is home to the Hillside Cemetery and Honeywell International manufacturing.

St. Anthony East & West

This small city is a refuge for those who want to or need to live close to the Twin Cities metropolitan area, but who crave the comforts and relaxation that come with small town life.

Sheridan

The Sheridan Neighborhood Organization has already had several successes, including funding the development of a public library, and the refurbishment of a theatre located on 13th Avenue.  A large portion of the neighborhood was built for industrial use of the Mississippi River, but there is potential for new housing in these industrial areas.  The Sheridan neighborhood also has a sizable amount of small apartment buildings

Beltrami

Large tracts of industrial land cover the southwestern part of the neighborhood, while the remaining land is dedicated to single-family dwellings interspersed with low-rise multifamily buildings.

Logan Park

This MPLS neighborhood covers 150 acres dedicating 40% of that area to Logan Park homes.  Properties in Logan Park include many large Victorian style homes that anyone looking for that old world charm in Minneapolis is sure to love.

Holland

The Holland neighborhood is predominately residential, and more than 75 percent of the homes were built before 1920.  Holland does have some commercial and retail areas, mainly along Central Avenue.  The neighborhood has other amenities including Jackson Square Park, Edison Senior High School and a Minneapolis public library branch.  Homes in Holland Minneapolis are typically less expensive than other areas of the metro making Holland a great choice for home buyers looking for a deal.

Bottineau

Home to approximately 1,250 residents, Bottineau is well known for its artistic flare and mix of amenities including a large park, library and its proximity to downtown.

Waite Park

Although Waite Park is mainly a residential neighborhood its also known for its railroad repair facility, the Shoreham Yards which was constructed there in the 1800’s.

Marshall Terrace

Most residential homes in Marshall are located in the center of the neighborhood.  Homes for sale in the community of Marshall Terrace and are typically considered affordable homes.  Marshall is located in the Northeast community and is home to the St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church.

Columbia Park

Is not only known for its stucco and brick Tudors and two-story colonials but also for its Columbia Park and Golf Course.

Audubon Park

The majority of homes in this relatively hilly neighborhood were constructed in the 1940’s.

Windom Park

This is primarily a residential neighborhood with housing almost equally split between owned properties and rentals. Single family homes in Windom Park tend to be more dominant in the eastern quadrant while multi-family homes tend to be in the western quadrant.
