As locals know by now there is a lot of activity going on down on Main Street. So what about what about all the other commercial land for sale and buildings for lease? If your asking yourself, “whats going on in Rockford?” We have some answers. Keep in mind much of this is still in preliminary stages but with some luck, our awesome town of Rockford will see some new activity all over very soon.
The Old Lumberyard (corner of Hwy 55 & Main)
The City Council has approved the proposal for the lumberyard site submitted by Allen Max Commercial Development. Under the proposal, Allen Max Commercial would construct an approximate 12,000 square foot multi-commercial use facility on the lumberyard property. Consisting of a family bar and grill-style restaurant to be called “Tavern on the Crow,” along with a 300 person event center and an additional 3,000 square feet of commercial retail space.
The next step in this process will be the negotiation of a Development and Purchase Agreement with Allen Max Commercial. Then begin the permit review process. While we are early on in the planning phase, this potential development would be a great addition to our community. Below is a drawing of the proposed building.
The Old Byerlys Bakery Building (corner of CR 50 & 55)
This property has been looked at by many prospects and currently has a Quik Trip in discussions to build.
Land Across From DiversiFoam (corner of 50 & 55 South)
This acreage parcel has been bought and closed to a developer who will construct senior housing along with a mix of retail/office space.
The Old Gas Station on West side of Town (where big retaining wall is and A&W used to be housed)
This station has been purchased by S.A. Stations and will open soon.
