April showers bring May flowers, or so the saying goes but I think all of us in the Twin Cities area might say it should be April showers “of snow” bring May flowers. I am not sure what is up with the snow in April and all this cold weather but I do know what’s up with the housing market, PENDING SALES!

I am not going to write a bunch of numbers, figures and graphs, at least in this blog post but I can say the sales are up and in a big way. We have been showing a lot of homes in the Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley & North Minneapolis areas this past month and to put it mildly, you can hardly get to them fast enough.

Homes under the $150,000 mark in these areas are not only selling they are selling fast and more often than not over list price. It’s a great sign of things to come. With the weather finally warming up and the home prices at values hard to pass up in conjunction with interest rates under 5% it’s a great time for buyers to come forward and the sold properties are a sign they are listening.

While nobody can predict what the future holds, one thing is certain, April Showers bring April buyers and May closings! This is a positive sign for both buyers and sellers. Prices may still be down but to see an increase on home value they need to be sold, without buyers prices drop, with buyers prices will rise over time.
