About Buffalo Lake
Located 35-45 minutes west of Minneapolis, Buffalo is a fast growing community offering all the finest conveniences of today’s retail, shopping and restaurants. There is a definite charm to the quaint downtown area with the corner drug store, theatre and many popular antique shops. Buffalo Lake is a 1,552 (lake area) acre lake located on the south/west side of town with a max depth of 33 feet. People love Buffalo Lake for its fishing, swimming and boating. There are three public accesses located on the lake: in the northwest corner, at Sturgis Park and at the channel to Mink Lake. The lake is primarily managed for walleye and northern pike, though it has a popular fishery for bluegill, crappie and bass.
