It’s Here – Fall Color Season Is Upon us
One of the great things about Minnesota is the gorgeous fall colors we have. From the North Shore fall colors to the tree lined neighborhoods that fill our great state the colors are brilliant and eye catching; but where are the best fall colors in Minnesota?
Each year the best places to catch the flame reds, orange and tantalizing yellows we seek are posted on great web sites like North Shore Fall Colors and also Explore Minnesota.
If you don’t have time to drive or want to save on the gas don’t worry there are many places close to the cities we take for granted sometimes. Drive by the Calhoun area or Lake Minnetonka on a Sunday afternoon or believe it or not just pass thru some older neighborhoods in your area with well established tree lined streets and you may see some wonderful colors.
In general, nice fall color can be found throughout the entire state of Minnesota! Beautiful fall color, along with peak or near peak conditions, can be found at Savannah Portage, St. Croix, Father Hennepin, Itasca, Glendalough, Lake Carlos, Mille Lacs Kathio, Lake Maria, Nerstrand Big Woods, Forestville/Mystery Cave, and Sibley state parks. Also consider a trip to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska for a chance to see a wide variety of stunning trees and vibrant flowers.
