A recent report from the Daily News indicates that the New York housing market is red hot, renewing hope that other areas will feel the same good fortune sooner than later.
New York's real estate board said in the last quarterly survey, from July through September home sales jumped 18%, to 11,597, up from 9,827 during the same time last year.
The sale prices in New York were another thing to climb by 26% to $8.36 billion compared to a year earlier.
The average price of a New York home rose by 7%, to $722,000.
